Malaria
is an infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites, which live and
breed in human red blood cells. The disease is transmitted through the
bite of female Anopheles mosquitoes and malaria parasites containing
malaria parasite that is transmitted through the bite of a healthy
person.
Malaria is dangerous because it causes anemia or blood deficiency. This is because red blood cells are destroyed much damaged by Plasmodium and contribute to maternal mortality. This disease can also cause severe malaria resulting in coma, multiple organ failure, and cause of death.
Sourced Animals for Disease Control Director Directorate of Disease Control Ministry of Health and Environmental Rita Kusriastuti, in commemoration of World Malaria Day, at the Building Department of Health, Jakarta, Wednesday (22 / 4), states, the disease usually attacks people who lived in the area that have a lot of standing water or suitable breeding places for the proliferation of malaria mosquitoes in malaria endemic area. "Many areas in Indonesia including endemic malaria," he added.
People can obtain further information about malaria at health centers, such as health centers, posmaldes, at both the provincial health office and district or city, and the Health Department, said Rita. Information on malaria can also be obtained through the extension of malaria, such as leaflets, booklets, and manuals.
