Benefit Garlic for Health


Garlic has been used as drug in herbal medicine for thousands of years ago. During BC garlic has been used by workers building the pyramids as drug and antidote to the disease being tired. And around the year 460 BC, its benefits have been praised by Hippocrates. When the world war years 1914-1918 of garlic is used by French soldiers to treat wounds.

Garlic is composed of various components with different properties including lowering blood cholesterol levels, inhibits platelet aggregation, increased activity fibrinolitik, inhibit atherogenesis and lowering blood pressure, which can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. The dose used was one capsule twice daily for 5 months. In the first month of giving blood cholesterol increases. This is the possibility of erosion of fatty deposits in blood vessels. HDL cholesterol increased after 2 months of delivery. Cholesterol levels decreased significantly after 8 weeks, but only triglyceride levels decreased after 5 months of giving garlic.

Other studies have shown that administration of garlic essential oil equals 1 gram of fresh garlic/kgBB / day are provided with high-cholesterol diet, will lower cholesterol levels, serum triglyceride levels. VLDL, LDL and increase HDL.
