Leukoplakia Symptom and disease



Leukoplakia is a condition where there is disorder of the gums, inner cheeks, the bottom of the mouth and tongue. It was a thickening or disruption of white patches. The cause of leukoplakia is unknown, but tobacco, either smoking or chewing, regarded as the main cause of this disorder.

Leukoplakia usually harmless, but sometimes can be serious. Even though most benign leukoplakia, its a very small percentage to show the early signs of oral cancer.

Symptom of Leukoplakia

Leukoplakia can be seen in several forms. Changes usually occur on the gums, inner cheeks, the bottom of the mouth and sometimes on the tongue, and spots may appear white or grayish, and there are areas of thickened or hardened. If there are symptoms of leukoplakia are advised to see a doctor.

Treatment of Leukoplakia
For most people, quitting smoking or alcohol consumption to help restore this disorder. When was the way it has been adopted and are not effective or showed early signs of cancer, the chances for cure by surgery or laser to destroy cancer cells (cryoprobe).
