What is Organic Food?

What is Organic Food? - Organic foods must meet the standard criteria that have been defined. According to the Nemours Foundation, the meal with an organic label must be produced without added hormones, herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics, or fertilizers made from materials that are not natural.

Likewise, organic products of animal origin, including dairy products, meat, poultry and eggs must come from animals given only organic food without antibiotics and growth hormones. The animal must also be able to move freely outside the room, not just confined to the cage.

U.S. health authorities have never said that organic food is healthier or better than non-organic food. However, if you want to buy organic food, it is important also to consider a fundamental aspect of food security. That is, make sure all the fruit and washed vegetables, and meat and poultry is cooked until done.
