Differences of heartburn and GERD


In laymen, diseases related to gastric acid is often called the stomach pain or heartburn. Medically, pain is defined as a collection of stomach pain or discomfort in the pit of the stomach, upper gastrointestinal tract and surrounding organs. Symptoms usually arise are nausea, bloating, early satiety, decreased appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Meanwhile, gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a disease of the upper gastrointestinal tract that occur because of stomach acid with a high acidity level up into the esophagus. GERD can be relieved with ordinary gastric pain medicine, but will not solve the cause. As a result, the disease will recur again in a short amount of time, within hours or days later.
